Wagyu refers to a type of beef that originates from cows in Japan. What makes it so special is its marbling, a result of excellent farming practices and superior genetic breeding.

The top-tier of Wagyu beef — widely considered the highest grade beef in the world — is called "A5."

The Wagyu Olympics — formally the Zenkoku Wagyu Nouryoku Kyoushinkai, or Zenkyo — has been held every five years since 1966.  Miyazaki Wagyu has earned the top spot in the past four competitions!
