CORN OIL  VS VEGETABLE OIL

Vegetable oil is a generic term describing a neutral oil including soybean, canola, corn, or a blend.

WHAT IS VEGETABLE OIL?

Corn oil is also a neutral oil and is a vegetable oil specifically and exclusively derived from corn.

WHAT IS CORN OIL?

The smoke point of corn oil is 450°F. The smoke point of vegetable oil varies, but is commonly 428°F.

SMOKE POINT

Corn oil is golden brown with a mild flavor.  Vegetable oil is light in color and truly neutral in taste.

FLAVOR & COLOR

Corn oil is a great pick for deep frying, shallow frying, long bake times, and mayo.  Vegetable oil is great for sautéing and dishes that call for a truly neutral oil to let the flavors shine.
