Let’s dissect this a bit.

Sous vide is a French term that translates to “under vacuum”.  Sous translates to “under” while vide translates to “vacuum”.

When saying “sous”, the “ou” is pronounced as a long o or “oo”. The second “s” is silent.

Vide is the most commonly mispronounced word. Most people leave off the “d”. When saying “vide”, the “i” is pronounced as a long “e” or “ee”. The final “e” is silent so the last letter you hear and say is the “d”.
